First Aid in Patients with Asthma

Asthma is caused by inflammation of the airways caused by too responsive to a stimulus. As a result, the airways become narrow and exacerbated by the passage of mucus. Patients will find it difficult to breathe, especially when exhaling.

Asthma can be caused by allergies and psychological pressure. The signs are visible difficult breathing exhales a long period. Sometimes accompanied by wheezing sound when exhaling, anxiety, skin pale and blue, and if left unchecked could lead to fainting.

According to Stanley M. Zildo as quoted from his book entitled 'First Aid, How to Properly First Aid and Emergency', asthma requires immediate treatment because it can be dangerous.

Steps that can be done include:

    1. Reassure the patient

    2. Help the patient to sit and rest

    3. Help patients get or obtain drugs

    4.
    Allow patients to use inhalers

    5. Avoid allergy sufferers of resources

    6. If the first attack or seen prolonged, immediately take medical services

    7. If unconscious, immediately take it to medical services

    8. Do not force patients to sleep on their backs because people are more comfortable in sitting

    9. Do not be a lot to ask people, because usually it is difficult to speak
